Florida SouthWestern State College
Established in 1962, Florida SouthWestern State College is the largest and one of the most affordable institutions of higher education in Southwest Florida. With locations in Fort Myers, Labelle, Naples, and Punta Gorda, annually we serve more than 22,000 students from across the country and the globe.
Regionally, we are the leading public institution granting two-year degrees. Our students appreciate our small class sizes and world-class faculty that teach our nationally-ranked, regionally accredited, career-focused academic associate and bachelor degree programs. Our most popular program is the Associate in Arts that provides students a strong general education foundation, which then allows them to continue on to one of Florida's state universities to pursue a bachelor degree through the state's 2+2 program.
FSW's Dedicate to Graduate initiative is focused on providing students the tools and assistance needed to graduate. These range from Academic Advising, Career and Transfer (ACT) services in the ACT Center, Academic Support Centers, to Adaptive Services, libraries and peer tutoring. Students are also engaged both in and out of the classroom through clubs and programs catered to their interests through our Office of Student Engagement.
Students can also cheer on the Buccaneers at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena for men's and women's basketball and starting in 2019, women's volleyball, and City of Palms Park for baseball and softball in Fort Myers. Our teams have earned conference championships, national tournament experience, and players moving on to D1 universities and the majors. FSW's intercollegiate athletics program debuted in the fall 2015 and is a member of the Florida College System Athletic Association (FCSAA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
